David Elderton is a creative experimenter and builder. He lives on an island near Vancouver in Canada working in the e-bike business delivering high quality custom e-bikes all across Canada. He is also in the progress of building his second electric boat. As he is experimenting and playing with ideas a lot, there is also many results. He shares them on open platforms and thus also helps others to get ahead with their projects.

August 30th marks the anniversary of The 2pt5 innovator podcast. One interesting conversation per month. Work on the concept started much earlier. My first note in Evernote about the podcast is from August 2016. So a project long time in the making. But it is a side project to my job as innovation coach, so that’s okay. The Apple iPhone team about the overnight success that was two years in the making

The Apple iPhone team had to work hard with lots of iterations to create the „overnight success“ people believe it was. The “Project Purple“ took over two years to get the iPhone launched.

They started out with many iterations of the iPod acting as a mobile phone. The initial idea was the observation of the product team that nobody seemed to be happy with their smartphone at the time.
